The Credit Repair Business
73Credit Repair Business
The credit repair business has stemmed out of one of the largest problems surrounding the citizens of the United States today is that of credit card debt. Credit card debt occurs generally over time when a person relies to heavily on their credit cards for everyday payments as well as monthly payments, and overtime allows the debt to build up and effectively never paid off. Now, before George Bush Jr. became the president of the United States, people with extreme debt were able to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and essentially have the slate wiped clean of all debts. The creditors would loose and the consumer would win, their were few stipulations of which included things such as not being able to apply for or receive a credit card for a certain period of time after you filed for bankruptcy. Mr. Bush however decided that this practice was seemingly unethical and passed the new version of the credit law, which still allowed people to file for bankruptcy under Chapter 13, which meant that people could still file for bankruptcy but rather than getting rid of their debt and wiping the slate clean, they are now forced to pay a monthly sum until the amount is paid in full to the creditors. This created a large opportunity for people to start their own credit repair business.
The credit card business, is both very simple but also very lucrative. In a nutshell a person with a severe form of debt would go to a credit repair agency to try and seek help. The credit repair agency that you are using is given the responsibility to perform a multitude of tasks which include; removing erroneous statements from a person's credit score, as well as contacting and working with the creditors to try and the loans paid back within a timely fashion.
When it comes to a person's credit report nothing can be more diminishing than having statements on their that may not be entirely true. Things such as false or inflated amounts, non existent loans or credit cards etc. can lead to a person having a much worse credit score than if these items were corrected. Once a credit repair business is able to remove all of these discrepancies a person is on their way towards a better credit rating, or getting their credit back all together.
The second task of communicating with a creditor can be a bit more delicate process than simply removing erroneous statements from the credit report. You see, creditors are in the business of giving a person credit as a way of making money. They make this money by implementing interest rates on top of the debt that a person already owes, which tends to have a snowball effect on the amount of debt a person accumulates. For this reason, speaking with a creditor representative should only be handled by a credit repair professional who truly understands the business and how to make it work. If handled improperly the consumer is subjected to having his or her profile with the company tarnished further.
With the advent of the new bill (which requires the consumer to get credit counseling) and the fact that the American society has been living above their means for a long time now, make this the perfect opportunity to get in on starting a credit repair business. It is a simple way to make a fair amount of money, and can be done entirely from home. It is also nice in the fact that you are able to help make peoples lives better and go smoother, while still putting money into your own pocket.
At the end of the day the best way to avoid credit card debt, is to eliminate multiple credit cards, pay your bill on time every month, and do not live above your means. If for whatever reason you are unable to follow those steps, look forward to being in contact with a bankruptcy attorney and a credit repair business in the near future.
