Latest Mobile Phone Frenzy
For several years now Apple has dominated the cell phone industry with the introduction of the world's first ever fully touch screen cell phone, the iPhone. Originally when the iPhone came out it ran on the slow Edge network which meant pages would load at a snails pace, as would built in apps such as Stocks or Weather. Then a short while later Apple released the iPhone 3G, which had basically the same features as the original iPhone only this time it featured built in 3G internet which meant you could load web pages, stocks, weather and whatever else you wanted to that required an internet connection much faster than before. Now Apple's latest mobile phone is the iPhone 3G S which is set to release in the United States on June 19. For the casual iPhone user the upgrade will not be necessary (as I will explain below) however for those die hard iPhone fans it is a must.
When the iPhone first made its debut several years ago, every one was quick to point out how such an expensive and revolutionary cell phone could have such defects. Not defects as in not working, rather defects such as not allowing certain features. The two most talked about missing features included the ability to send and receive MMS (Multimedia Messages) and record video. The iPhone 3G S fixes both of those problems and many more.
The video feature on this latest mobile phone is truly revolutionary. For years now users have been able to record and share videos on their phone, however when you have seen a phone that allowed you to actually edit the video on the go? With the iPhone 3G S users are able to load up the video camera, and record their own video at a rate of 30 FPS (Feet Per Second), trim it, and then; post it directly to YouTube, send it as an MMS, E-mail it, or simply save it to your computer. Now users do not have to worry about carrying around smaller video devices such as the Flip Mino being that video can be captured and shared at the touch of a finger.
The second highly requested feature of MMS is finally implemented into the new Iphone. This feature allows iPhone users to send and receive picture, video, and audio messages the same way he or she would normally receive a text message. So the next time you want to catch that funny moment and send it to your friend, you are able to do so at the simple tap of the screen.
Other new features of the iPhone 3G S include the ability to control your phone via voice control. What does this mean? Well, instead of having to dial your friend, or pick this name out of the contact list you can simply say “Call Michelle Rodriguez” and that person will be dialed immediately. Other notable features include the ability to cut, copy and paste, type e-mails in landscape mode, record and play back voice memos, and lastly this phone features a built in compass that works hand in hand with the built in maps to show you which direction you are headed in.
At the end of the day, nearly every feature listed with the exception of the video recorder will be available through the iPhone update on June 17. So for the most part it will not be necessary to buy the new phone. However if you are someone who will actually use the new video recorder then this latest touch screen mobile phone is for you!
